What Will You Be Doing?

In this role, you will balance rigorous statutory auditing with strategic client advisory. Your day-to-day will include:

  • Leading Complex Audits: Executing statutory and non-statutory environmental (contaminated land) audits.
  • Providing Technical Mastery: Critically reviewing relevant assessments, reports, plans and other required documentation prepared by third-party consultants.
  • Navigating Regulations: Acting as the primary liaison with the EPA, and helping clients understand their obligations under evolving legislation.
  • Mentoring the Team: Coaching, peer-reviewing and elevating a talented internal team of scientists and engineers.
  • Client Partnership: Translating dense, complex environmental data into clear, commercially viable, and legally sound advice for stakeholders.

What You Bring to the Table?

We know that reaching the level of an appointed Auditor takes years of dedication, analytical rigor, and uncompromising integrity. To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • The Accreditation: Current, formal accreditation as a Site Auditor by NSW EPA is mandatory. Additional accreditation with other relevant state EPA is desirable, but not necessary.
  • The Experience: 10+ years in the environmental consulting or regulatory sector, with a heavy emphasis on contaminated land, hydrogeology, and/or landfill management.
  • The Education: A Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Environmental Science, Engineering, Earth Sciences, or a related field.
  • The Skills: Exceptional report-writing abilities, sharp risk assessment skills, and the commercial acumen to manage project timelines and client expectations smoothly.
