Contaminant Hydrogeology

Contaminant Hydrogeology is an important part of any groundwater assessment and in our experience is often poorly understood or practiced.

AEA can assist in understanding the fate and transport of contaminants in the subsurface by initially establishing a defensible Conceptual Site Model (CSM). A CSM can determine a path or ways in which contaminants move through sources in the environment and should be conducted in the initial stages of a site assessment.

If required, AEA can also develop simple models to determine the likely future concentrations at key receptors and the timing of these impacts.

Our team has consulted widely in this field and published a number of papers in referred journals.
